Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Saturday unveiled a Master Pylon to mark the development works worth Rs. 642.81 crore here for the overall development of Srisailam pilgrim centre on the lines of Tirumala. The chief minister who arrived at Sunnipenta by helicopter along with district in-charge minister Kondru Murali and Minister for information DK Aruna was welcomed by Minister for Law and Justice Erasu Pratap Reddy, Member of Parliament SPY Reddy, MLA Labbi Venkate Swamy and District Collector C Sudarsan Reddy.

After visiting Sakshi Ganapati temple, offering prayers to Srisaila Mallikarjuna Swamy and Bhramaramba Devi, the chief minister unveiled a pylon to mark the inauguration of various development programmes as per the Master Plan at Srisailam Mahakshetram. The chief minister inaugurated the drinking water and sewerage plant constructed at a cost of Rs. 45 crore. He also inaugurated Siddha Ramappa Commercial complex constructed at a cost of Rs. 25 crore and a primary health centre built at a cost of Rs. 60 lakh. The chief minister also inaugurated Mallikarjuna Sadan comprising 65 special rooms for the convenience of pilgrims built at a cost of Rs. 8.85 crore and unveiled the statue of Maha Rudra built at a cost of Rs. 30 lakh. He also participated in the Ganga Harati programme. The chief minister handed over the keys of Erasu Ayyapu Reddy Guest House built at a cost of Rs. 40 lakh to the Srisailam Devasthanam Board authorities. The chief minister visited the underground hydel project on the Srisailam Left Bank Canal and discussed with the officials regarding the power generation there. The chief minister inaugurated Annapurna Nityannadana Satram constructed at a cost of Rs. 8.85 crore on the temple premises and dined along with the pilgrims after inaugurating a free mineral water plant. The chief minister laid foundation stone for an indoor stadium at the Degree College at Sunnipenta before addressing the public meeting.A Addressing a public meeting the chief minister assured people that he would solve the local problems. Temple executive officer Chandrasekhar Azad, district superintendent of police Chandrasekhar Reddy, Zilla Parishad CEO Suryaprakash, CPO Ananda Naik, DM & HO Dr Narasimhulu and other officials accompanied the chief minister.
