Kurnool: Minister for Minor Irrigation TG Venkatesh said her on Thursday that drinking water would be provided to each and every village on a permanent basis with the help of irrigation schemes. He inaugurated E. Tandrapadu lift irrigation scheme in Kurnool mandal. Addressing the meeting in this connection, the minister instructed the officials to get the sanctioning letters to as many lift irrigation schemes as possible. "E.Tandrapadu lift irrigation scheme, which was built at a cost of Rs. 3.78 crore, would provide irrigation to 441 acres in the next kharif season benefiting 115 farmers," he added. He said that 830 acres would be irrigated through Gondiparla lift irrigation scheme which would cost Rs. 5.30 crore. MLC Sudhakar Babu said that complimented the minister for minor irrigation for taking special care to provide irrigation to wherever necessary. He said that the minister had already undertaken various development works like community halls, community toilets, shadi khanas and others with his own funds. District Collector C Sudarsan Reddy said that E. Tandrapadu lift irrigation scheme was meant for providing irrigation to the kharif crop. Irrigation Development corporation Executive Engineer Reddy Sankar, and other officials were present.
