He visited various villages in Orvakallu mandal where the Paccha Toranam scheme, National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme, Watershed and others were being implemented and expressed satisfaction over the implementation after talking with several beneficiaries.

During his visit to the Loddipalli village in Orvakallu mandal, the principal secretary complimented the farmer who had undertaken cultivation after clearing boulders in the land given to him and rearing mango saplings. The farmer told the senior officer that he was cultivating an inter-crop of red grams and the yield was good.

The principal secretary suggested to the farmer to dig deep pits between the trees to harvest rain water. Later at Vuyyalawada village, the senior officer observed the natural processing of manure system. Addressing the self-help groups in the village, he appealed to the women to tell everyone about the Bangarutalli, deliveries in government hospital and other schemes. The women should improve their financial condition, he added.

Regional Resource Centre opened Principal Secretary Reddy Subrahmanyam inaugurated the regional resource centre at Orvakallu mandal on Thursday to bring awareness among farmers regarding the watershed development programmes. "Watershed programme is being implemented in 60 lakh acres in the State," he added. The farmers should learn how to harvest every drop of rain from the regional resource centre, he said.

BC hostel inaugurated Reddy Subrahmanyam inaugurated a hostel for the boys of backward classes in Midivemula village in Orvakallu mandal on Thursday. Panyam MLA Katasani Rambhupal Reddy, district collector C Sudarsan Reddy and others were present. Addressing the students the senior officer said that the students should come up in life by studying hard. The collector said that the government was spending huge amounts for education. Thirty five Model Schools, six KGBV schools, 550 additional classrooms and facilities like toilets and drinking water in all schools was provided.

The MLA said that he submitted the proposals for the hostel last year and got it sanctioned. Rs. 2 crore was sanctioned for the R&B road works in the village. The play ground would be leveled under the NRGP scheme, he said and appealed to the principal secretary to give permission to undertake such works in all villages. Former mayor Raghuram, additional joint collector Rama Swamy, BC Welfare officer Ravichandra and others were present.
