The agitation entered the 30th day on Thursday with more and more people joining the stir to demonstrate their resentment against the division of the state.
Employees and teachers have been ready to forego their salaries for the sake of united Andhra Pradesh which would pave way for the bright future of the children of the state. The joint action committees of employees, teachers and students which were formed voluntarily have intensified the agitation. More and more political leaders have also started relay hunger strike in support of the united state. The joint action committee of advocates staged rasta roko on the national highway No 7 and presented various programmes to mark their protest.
Panyam MLA Katasani Rambhupal Reddy continued his 48-hour hunger strike on Thursday. Building workers have taken a rally from their office to the Collectorate. The employees of electricity department continued relay hunger strike at Vidyut Bhavan.
Ten employees of Rayalaseema Alkalies, a TGV Group of companies, subjected to tonsure to mark their protest against the division of the state after taking out a rally from the company up to Raj Vihar Centre. Later they released black balloons into air to mark their protest.
TGV Group executive director Karunakar Rao said that Rayalaseema would be first casualty if the state was divided.
The students of Nursing College have formed human chain in the city and the joint action committee of teachers has taken out a motorcycle rally from Kondareddy Buruju to the Collectorate demanding the withdrawal of the decision to divide the state.
Raghuveera Reddy, Tulasi Reddy gheraoed Revenue Minister Raghuveera Reddy and chairman of 20-point programme Tulasi Reddy have been gheraoed in two separate incidents in the city on Thursday.
The agitators have gheraoed the revenue minister when was here to attend a function at Srikrishna temple. Advocates have gheraoed Tulasi Reddy while he was participating in a press meet organised by psychiatrist Sirigireddy Jaya Reddy. They demanded his resignation and participation in the agitation. In Dhone, the members of Ediga Sangham have organised a massive rally with 200ft national flag raising slogans for a united Andhra Pradesh. They hurled abuses against the persons who were trying to divide the Telugu-speaking people. Heart transplantation for KCR In Adoni, roads have turned into playgrounds with physical education teachers, employees and teachers playing various games and sports on them.
The physicians and the medical staff conducted a mock heart transplantation surgery to the TRS chief, K Chandrasekhar Rao, in a bid to change his heart about the separate state of Telangana. After the transplantation, the person who is acting as KCR raised slogans ‘Jai Samaikyandhra’. MLA Meenakshi Naidu, Congress leader Ramesh and others participated. Employees organised cook and eat programme on the road. Students playing various games on the road raising slogans in favour of united state.
