The employees JAC of Roads and Buildings Department have organised a massive rally with its engineers and staff in the city. Later, they have staged a protest demonstration. The employees JAC of Agriculture department have knelt before the statue of Mahatma Gandhi near the Collectorate to mark their protest against the division of the state. Some agitators laid siege to the Mourya Inn hotel protesting against the hurling of footwear against the relay hunger strike of the advocates in the city on Sunday.
The realy hunger strike launched by the advocates has entered 47th day. The relay hunger strike being organised by Panyam MLA Katasani Rambhupal Reddy has entered 40th day. The teachers JAC members who have been on relay hunger strike, stated that continue the agitation for one state for one Telugu people.
The relay hunger strike launched by Samaikya Rashtra Parirakshana Vedika has entered the 25th day. IN Aluru, under the leadership of former MLA Masala Eeranna, the members of Youth Association JAC have taken out a procession in the attire of ancient men on the 48th day of the agitation here.
Several organisations and associations have taken out rallies here to protest against the decision to divide the state.
The employees and teachers JAC and the leaders of all political parties met here on Monday and decided to observe 46-hour bandh from September 20 to 22. They appealed to the people of surrounding villages to get prepared for the bandh and purchase necessary provisions for the bandh days. No vehicle would be plied and no shop or establishment should be open, they said.
JAC leaders Satyanaraya, Anandraju, Suryanarayana Prasad, Chandrasekharaiah, Jayaram, Sivaprasad, Madanna, Ravindra Rao, Swaroop Kumar and others were present. In Atmakukru, the agitators here on Monday laid siege to the house of Minister for Law and Justice Erasu Pratap Reddy stating that he was missing in his constituency though they have been agitating for the last 45 days.
The agitators said that the minister who announced his resignation had been hiding somewhere instead of participating in the agitation. The minister who started at Srisailam to reach Atmakuru, diverted his journey route and went to Hyderabad after learning that his house was under siege.
The agitators including the JACs of RTC, teachers and students after learning the minister’s changed itinerary got angry with him and warned that they would not allow him to return to Atmakuru.The district medical and health department employees organised a massive agitation here. A Girijan ASHA workers from Nallamala forest staged Chenchu dance to mark the protest. The agitation has been intensified in Atmakuru, Bandi Atmakuru, Kottapalli, Velugodu, Srisailam and other areas in the Srisailam constituency.
