Kondaveedu: The State and the Central Governments are taking steps to develop the historic Kondaveedu fort as a tourism hub. The road connectivity to the fort is being improved.

The roads between Guntur and Chilakaluripet, Narsaraopet and Perecharla, Guntur and Perecharla and Venkalayapadu and Kondaveedu are being improved. The 5.1 km long ghat road inside the fort is being ladi at a cost of Rs 3.5 crore. Also, a 30000 sq feet museum is being built inside the fort at a cost of Rs 5 crore.

The museum is being set up under the aegis of the All India Reddy Sankshema Sangham. A guesthouse at a cost of Rs 23 lakh, a welcome gate at a cost of Rs 34 lakh are being built.

Similarly, three lakes – Vedulla Cheruvu, Mutyalamma Cheruvu and Puttalamma Cheruvu are being renovated by spending Rs 2.4 crore. Another Rs 3.5 crore have been allocated to repair 24 ramparts and 20-km long fortification walls.

The Government has allocated 80 acres to ISKCOn to develop a temple in 17 acres, a goshala in 3.5 acres and 108 temples. A destitute home and an oldage home too would be constructed. The total outlay for these is around Rs 500 crore.
