A group of juveniles escaped from the Observatory Home for Juveniles at Saidabad. However, three weeks later, the police got hold of them from Attapur. The went on to steal three bikes, burgled four homes in Gachibowli, Rajendranagar and Jubilee Hills. After mortgaging the gold with a woman in Dhoolpet, they boarded a bus to Goa.

They spent five days in Goa and returned back to Hyderabad on May 20. The group later were about to burgle another home in Attapur on Friday when they were caught by the police. A total of 12 boys escaped from Saidabad state home on May 7 and split into groups. Five of the boys returned home the following day.

The group of five boys headed by Bijanamaina Raghu after leaving the home kept traveling on stolen bikes. The next morning, four of them went to Gandipet while another went to his parents and surrendered at the Observatory Home. The remaining four burgled a house at Gowlidoddi in Gachibowli. Later, with the help of the mother of the juvenile boy who surrendered at the home, the four juveniles mortgaged the stolen gold at Muthoot Finance in Marredpally for Rs 86,500 and gave Rs 10,000 to the boy’s mother as commission.

Meanwhile, another boy identified as Naresh who had joined the group ran away with Rs 50,000 without informing his friends. The next day, one among them was caught by the police who were alerted by the locals in Kukatpally after they attempted to burgle a house.

Raghu and the other two juveniles burgled two more houses at Jubilee Hills and Rajendranagar on May 11. After mortgaging the stolen gold, the boys went to have fun with Rs 80,000 in Goa on May 14.

Spending money on booze and body massages, the trio returned to the city on the morning of May 20, empty-handed. They were finally nabbed by the police after they attempted to burgle a house again on May 25 in Attapur.
