Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday conveyed his greetings to environment lovers on the occasion of World Environment Day.

Stating that the Telangana government was working with commitment to facilitate providing a healthy environment for the present and future generations, he mentioned the implementation of Telangana Ku Haritha Haaram programme to increase the green cover with its progress in the last three years being more than satisfactory.

Re-emphasising the initiatives taken by the TRS government to conserve the environment, KCR said they have taken up the task of providing clean atmosphere, clean drinking water and food.

Calling upon the people to make the programme even more successful with their participation in the fourth phase of Haritha Haram in July, he also informed regarding the plan of the introduction of electric vehicles in the state to reduce carbon emissions.

The Chief Minister further brought focus on the state government’s plan to ban the use of plastic in the state by 2022.
