The opposition Leader of AP assembly and YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who is embarking on the Praja Sankalpa Yatra will be soon entering East Godavari district.

Earlier, the YSRCP Chief was denied permission to walk over the Godavari bridge that will lead him to Rajahmundry city and the police suggested he take a different route.

The road-cum-rail bridge of 4.1 kilometers length is from Kovvuru in West Godavari district to Rajahmundry in East Godavari district.

While the police cited that the bridge was not in a stable condition, a notice was sent to YSRCP city coordinator Rauthu Surya Prakash Rao asking the Praja Sankalpa Yatra organisers to look out for an alternative route.

However the YSRCP East Godavari district leaders met the police officials and elaborated on the importance of the padayatra along with the history of the bridge. They leaders pointed out the fact that around 65 trains including goods trains travel through the bridge. Following this, the police approved the travel through the bridge and the arrangements are being planned for YS Jagan’s entry into East Godavari district on June 12.
