KTR: Prof Jayashankar was the backbone of Telangana movement

Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development KT Rama Rao on Thursday attended a memorial meeting of Prof. Jayashankar at Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Bhavan, in Hyderabad.
Speaking in this regard, KTR said that Prof. Jayashankar had been the backbone of the Telangana movement, even from the 1950s and his passing away has left a void in the hearts of the people of Telangana.
Prof. Jayashankar had fought for Telangana since 1952 and passed away from on June 21, 2011.
Stating that the unequal distribution of river water is the main reason for the Separate Telangana movement, the Minister further mentioned that their agenda was to provide water, funds and jobs and are committed to it.
