Hyderabad: A contractor was arrested on Monday for sexually assaulting a 26- year-old woman here in Narsingi.
According to police, the woman, a daily wage labourer has moved to the city recently along with her husband and four-year-old child and resided at Shaikpet.
The accused Ravi, a native of Pebber in Mahabubnagar also stays in the same place and works as a contractor. He then befriended the woman and offered her a job as a daily wage labourer at a construction site.
On the first day of the work, the accused took her to the top of the construction building and sexually assaulted her. Two days after the incident, the woman disclosed the matter to her husband who lodged a complaint with the police.
The police registered a case and arrested the accused. An investigation is underway.
