Tirupati: The CID SP RN AmmiReddy said that “ after the three months deep and detailed investigation CID Police came to the conclusion in PG Medico Dr Bellam Shilpa suicide case that the victim had committed suicide by the verbal sexual harassment and humiliation of Dr P RaviKumar, HOD of pediatric SVMC. In the case Dr Kireeti and Dr Sashi Kumar of same department supported the RaviKumar ”. Due to this harassment she had ended his life on August 8th by hanging at her residence in Pileru town in Chittoo district, he added.

The SP, CID has disclosed case investigation details to Media here on Friday at Tirupati CID regional office. He said that “ on the orders of State Government the case was taken over by the CID police, Tirupati region on August 10th after two days of victim suicide. For this case investigation CID department had formed a special investigation team (SIT), later during the case investigation our CID officials examined 47 witness. The witness include complainant, blood relatives, husband, colleague PG students, faculty in SVMC, former PGs of pediatrics, persons concerned with examination department and etc”.

“ And also our SIT had collected the digital evidence and secured the enquiry reports of various committees formed in this regard. Our cops verified the examination pattern of NTRHU and could examine some of the professors associated with answer sheet evaluation”, told SP Ammireddy.

“ Our CID SIT investigation findings are as per the statement of the witness it is established that the A 1 Dr RaviKumar used to behave rudely and do verbal communication with sexual overtones towards the deceased DR Bellam Shilpa. When the Deceased objected such behavior by A 1, the gap started between the deceased and A 1. There are other victims of verbal sexual abuse committed by Dr Ravi Kumar. When the deceased and her husband approached the principal to get the issues sorted out, the principal promised to do justice, but did not take the report. Though Dr Kireeti and Sahsi Kumar have not committed any harassment on the deceased but they were supporters of A 1” SP mentioned.

Further he added and stressed that as her plea was not attended by the college authorities, she has emailed her agony to the Governor of AP. Realizing that no justice was being done, she lodged a complaint with Tirupati Alipiri Police Station. Later she withdrew the case after coming to know that there is another committee constituted by the district collector, but this committee has delayed in submitting its report. Totally she did not get any justice inspite of lodging complaint before various authorities. In the back drop there is evidence to establish the offence of abetment to suicide against A 1, A2 and A3 are abettors to the crime.

The CID SP informed that a case had been registered at Pileru Police Station against the three Doctors Ravi Kumar, Kireeti and Sashi Kumar as crime no 101/2018 under section 354 (D), 509, 506, 306 IPC, r/w 34 IPC, Sec 3(1), 3(2) of SC/ST amendment act 2016.

“ The case investigation is almost nearing the completion Soon in a month charge sheet will be filed against the three accused in the court”, SP AmmiReddy concluded.

In the media meet the case investigation officer CID DSP GV Ramana and SIT team officials were present.
