The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation is gearing up to increase the revenue by 10 per cent with the construction of commercial complexes and mini-theatres in the districts like Mahabubnagar and Adilabad which is still under scrutiny.

In the annual review meeting held on Thursday, Managing Director and Vice-Chairman Sunil Sharma of TSRTC said that they are planning to increase the revenue by procuring 1,000 buses this year and also pressing 40 e-buses into service. Explaining about how they had increased the revenue in the last two years by setting up stalls and leasing the spaces, Sharma said that they have bought vacant land in Gowliguda and are looking for the expansion of stalls into multiplexes.

Sharma also said that they are looking out to hire a minimum of 1,000 bus drivers shortly.
