Capital City's Suburbs get a HI-Tech look with the New MMTS stations
The Capital Citys suburbs is acquiring a brand new look with th newly constructd stations and fresh tracks being laid by the South Central Railway to boost this local transport system which has been a part of daily lif for many in th city for ovr 15 years now
HYDERABAD: The Capital City's suburbs is acquiring a brand new look with th newly constructd stations and fresh tracks being laid by the South Central Railway to boost this local transport system which has been a part of daily lif for many in th city for ovr 15 years now.
Five MMTS Stations ar being constructed at Ferozguda, Suchitra circle, Bhudvi nagar, Nredmt and Moula Ali HB colony, on the 22 km stretch of the sanathnagar - Moula ali section.
The station works are speeding up at at suchitra centre and at other four junctions also.
According to a Senior Railways Officials, work on the new stations was taken upunder Passenger Ameneties at a cost of Rs 20 crore two years ago, with the budget of having allocations for improvement of other MMTS stations as well.
The facilities at the new MMTS include Foot over bridges, toilets, high level platforms, chairs, open waiting halls, parking facilities, booking counters, Automatic Ticket Vending Machines, Circulating area and indication brands.
There will be no more travel issues for the passengers. As the new stretch will be opened soon. where as earlier passengers use from the sanathnagar - moula ali area had to go to either Bharathnagar or Secunderabad to catch a local train.
MMTS Phase 11 works in progress
Works related to MMTS phase-II, covering around 90 Km on stretches such as Moula Ali- Ghatkesar, Falaknuma- Umdanagar Shamshabad, Secunderabad- Bolarum, Bolarum- Medchal, Santhanagar- Moula Ali, Moula Ali- Malkajgiri- Sithaphalmandi and Tellapur- Ramchandrapuram, are nearing completion.
Officials said 70percent of the work had been completed over the different stretches in Tellapur- Ramchandrapuram, Moula Ali- Ghatkesar and Medchal- Bolarum have been completed while works are in progress on the Falkunama - Umdanagar section.
Three stations will be restored on the Tellapur- Ramchandrapuram section at Tellapur, BHEL and Ramchandrapuram, they said.
The total estimated cost of the project has been shared by the Railways and the State Governmen of Rs 816 crore, out of which the Railways share is Rs 272 crore and the state government share is Rs 544 crore.
