Efforts to curb child abuse in snail-pace : no government school provided with CCTV protection
BENGALURU: Following reports of child abuse in schools, the government made it mandatory for schools to install CCTV cameras in their premises so that the ongoings can be recorded for proof and security of the children. However, this exercise was done vigilantly only in private schools. None of the 1,151 government schools in Bengaluru North and South education districts have been provided with the equipment, despite the government making lofty promises that this issue would be their priority.

He further threw light on the event, and said parents whose children study in private establishments have the courage to speak against the system , which parents from government school kids lack. They don't have the social capital or standing that leads them to be intimidated by the establishments.
"There have been instances of girl children being made to sit at home and stop their education because some other peer abused or bullied them. In most cases, the inspections are made but no equipment is installed," he said.
