Humiliated over getting married off by Bajrang Dal activists on Valentine's day, the young couple attempted suicide on Friday in the city.
The couple hailing from Siddipet were caught by the activists who forced them to marry. After the incident had gone viral on social media, they refused to return their homes and thought of committing suicide.
On Friday, they jumped into the Hussain Sagar lake to end their lives. However, the police who noticed the incident rescued and sent them to the police station for counselling.
The police who were on a search for the couple also informed their parents. They were handed over to their families.
