Hyderabad: S. Niranjan Reddy on Thursday took the charge as the Minister for Agriculture.
Speaking to media persons after taking the charge at the Telangana Secretariat, he assured that the State Government would give priority for the development of agriculture sector as desired by the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
The new Agriculture Minister said that the Agriculture Sector was in a state of neglect under the regimes of erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh. However, he said after the formation of Telangana State, top priority was given to agriculture sector and farmers' standard of living was improved. He said that the Rythu Bandhu scheme was giving good results and the farmers’ suicides have been reduced.
