Engineering student found dead in Patancheru river

A first-year Btech student was found dead in a river in Patacheru mandal of Sangareddy district on Tuesday evening.
Pithani Goutham (18), a resident of ITW Signode colony under Ameenpur police station limits was pursuing engineering first year at MLR engineering college. On Monday, Goutham went out with friends and was found dead on Tuesday.
According to the police, Goutham had given Rs 8000 to his friend Pavan to order a mobile phone through an e-commerce site. Meanwhile, Pavan had not placed any order rather he reported to have spent the money. Enraged over it, Goutham quarrelled with Pavan who developed a grudge on the former.
When the victim went out with his friends Pavan and Khasim, they strangled him to death and later threw his body in the river. Based on the complaint registered by Goutham's parents, the police investigated the case and arrested the two.
