Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman's parents received a standing ovation from co-passengers on Delhi bound flight on Thursday.

The commander's parents Air Marshal S Varthaman and Shobha Varthaman headed to Delhi on Thursday after Pakistan announced to release Abhinandan on Friday. Seeing them in the flight, the co-passengers could not stop themselves cheering them up and took photos with them. The couple got a standing ovation from the passengers who expressed gratitude to them. The flight landed in Delhi an hour after midnight from where they went to Amritsar to welcome his son.

Abhinandan was caught by Pakistan's military after his MiG-21 collapsed at the Wagah Border on Wednesday and he was landed on the other side of Line of Control (LoC).
