Technical glitch in metro services creates challenges for passengers
On Friday afternoon the passengers on Namma Metros Green Line Nagasandra to Yelachenahalli had faced difficult challenges, as the services were disrupted for almost an hours because of a technical glitch

BENGALURU: On Friday afternoon the passengers on Namma Metro’s Green Line (Nagasandra to Yelachenahalli) had faced difficult challenges, as the services were disrupted for almost an hour's because of a technical glitch.
Officials have blamed the ‘no-release of the brake in a train’ at Chickpet Metro station at 2:25 PM responsible for the disruption. This caused the passengers to deboard three Metro trains at Nadaprabhu Kempegowda (Majestic), Mantri Square Sampige Road and Chickpet stations.
Trains functioning between Nagasandra and Yelachenahalli Metro stations on the Green Line had been regulated for 20 to 30 minutes. At 3:25 PM the normal train services were restored on the Green Line according to the schedule.
At various stations many passengers were left stranded for more than 30 minutes. Jagpreet Singh, a passenger tweeted: “Another interruption in service in the Green Line of Bengaluru’s Namma Metro, waiting at station from more than 30 min.”
A resident of Nandini Layout and a regular Metro commuter, Arya K had said that, “I have been using the Green Line since its inception and never faced such a situation. I boarded the train at Mahalakshmi station and it was halted for around 12 minutes at Rajajinagar Metro station. As per the announcements, the delay was due to some technical problem they said would be addressed shortly. Thereafter, the train moved at a snail’s pace. On reaching Mantri Square, the loco pilot announced that the train has been cancelled and requested all passengers to evacuate. Many passengers were throwing tantrums at security guards who had no idea about the technical snag.”
On Friday another six-car train on the Purple Line BMRCL had inducted one more six-car train on Purple Line. The corporation has been planning to introduce two more six-car trains on this line by the end of this month.
