Handloom saree mela kicks off, Saree lovers are in for a treat, as the MP Silk Federation is organising an exhibition-cum-sale of fabric woven on handloom from natural silks of Madhya Pradesh under the established name of Prakrit at Taj Deccan from September 6 to 8.
Saree lovers are in for a treat, as the MP Silk Federation is organising an exhibition-cum-sale of fabric woven on handloom from natural silks of Madhya Pradesh under the established name of Prakrit at Taj Deccan from September 6 to 8.
Prakrit presents a wide range of silk sarees, fabrics, dupattas, shawls, etc, in splendid mulberry soft silk, eri silk and matte tasar silk, crowned by nature-sourced colours and designs of Maheshwari and Chanderi, which are renowned all over the world.
The purpose behind the exhibition is to provide market links to the financially weak silk weavers working with the federation and to revive traditional art of the state. The authenticity of the silk is certified by the ministry of textiles, government of India.
