Sreejith Vellora, an artist from Kerala, is exhibiting his paintings of Kerala murals under the title 'Chitravali' at Chitramayee State Art Gallery, Madhapur.

The exhibition was inaugurated on October 8 by Padma Shri awardee Jagdish Mittal and was attended by poet Narender Rai Srivastav, heritage activist Vedakumar M, Nizams Museum curator D Bhaskar Rao and others.

Sreejith Vellora achieved a diploma in conservation and restoration of mural paintings and studied about mural paintings of 17th – 19th century.

Chitravali showcases astounding paintings from the seventeenth to the nineteenth century that have adorned the walls of many Kerala temples and shrines. At the exhibition the artist offers his audiences live presentations of his art. The exhibition will display some rare and important murals of the time when mural tradition flourished and attained the highest splendour. The paintings will be on display till October 10.
