Shonali Kocharekar’s exhibition of art works, titled ‘Equine Inspired’, would be inaugurated today at 5 pm. The artist dreamed of horses as an infant and they slowly grew on her. She started riding horses when she was eight years old and her love for these creatures turned into a passion. She soon realised that all she wanted to do was paint horses. Her hobby then turned into a full time profession.

For Shonali, the medium is not important. What is important to her is how best she can show the beauty of her subject. She works with charcoal, oils, acrylics, water colours, ceramic colour glaze, graphite, colour pencils and pastels. Charcoal is her favourite medium.

Shonali undertakes commissions of pet portraits from clients who want their pets in a painting or sketch. The exhibition will be on till December 16 from 12 pm to 8 pm.
