Whilst talking about my special corner in my home, I am reminded of the much touted song: Home, home can I forget thee, dear, dear, dearly loved home. Each one of us are emotionally attached to our homes — no exaggeration.

Whilst talking about my special corner in my home, I am reminded of the much touted song: Home, home can I forget thee, dear, dear, dearly loved home. Each one of us are emotionally attached to our homes — no exaggeration.

And each respective home is unique and is an extension of one’s personality and needs no elaboration. Homes sometime ostensibly reflect (by décor, or wall displays) and yet other times, silently, the state of an individual’s mind.
Be it a long hard day at work or a homecoming from a sojourn with happy memories, it is always the home that one wishes to get back to nestle in the safe haven.
Without any complaints, our homes dresses up for all occasions ranging from a private dinner to a burgeoning birthday party; a barbeque gathering to a religious ceremony; receiving guests to bringing home a pet-significance of a home couldn’t be more emphasised.
Within every home there is a corner, which becomes the soul of the house. That special corner of my home is the one place which encapsulates the myriad strands of my interests and ties me to the daily chores of life.
Every morning the bright sun rays through the vibrant golden drapes conjure the perfect setting for my early morning ‘suryanamaskar’ and yoga. The splash of green of the luscious leaves, pottery and working the soil lends that unforgettable aroma when water mixes with the soil.
A water colour painting of Buddhist monks from Myanmar and the statue of Lord Buddha adds to the tranquility of this golden special corner. This calm induces the quiet I require to work on foreign policy analysis and also do a bit of indulgent reading. Photos of loved ones are a constant beautiful reminder of the love that engulfs us.
During the evenings, this place with the perfect lighting and a stack of my published works and articles creates an inspiring ambience which goads me to write and ideate. Or at times just cosy up with a mug of green tea, sometimes a cocoa drink and indulge in a candid conversation or sweet nothings. This is the story of my special corner at my home which is so vibrant and yet Soulful.
