Mumbai: India Kids fashion Show (IKFS), a premier fashion show for kids in India has seen phenomenal growth in kids fashion industry since its inception in 2012. It is not merely a fashion show but a platform for overall grooming of kids. Moving ahead with its second edition for the year at Mumbai, IKFS left everyone mesmerized with an electrifying fashion cavalcade by kids on the runway on 14th May 2016 at St. Regis Hotel & High Street Phoenix, Mumbai.
The fashion showcase witnessed four designers exhibiting their fashion verve through their exclusive collection. The showcase began with a grooming workshop for kids at The St. Regis Hotel on 13th May which witnessed kids taking workshops by celebrity chorographer, stylist and social skills trainer. The workshops were followed by some fun activities for kids preparing them for the showcase the on 14th May 2016. The workshops conducted prior to the evening finale of IKFS are an integral part of the fashion showcase, which not only emphasizes on the importance of grooming for kids but also uses it as an opportunity to make the environment familiar and friendly for kids.
The evening finale on the 14th May at Courtyard High Street Phoenix, a much awaited fashion affair witnessed kids on the runway adorned in collection by the brands like Nino By Vani Mehta, Desi Nakhre by Sakshi Bhala, AZ Couture, clothing line by designer Aashish Sharma and Sharad Raghav collection, unfolding their magic designs on the ramp. Designer Vani Mehta through her collection exhibited a mix of ethnic and contemporary designs whereas Aashish showcased a range of Indo- Western collection with interesting headgears. Desi Nakhre showcased its couture line for the first ever time on the ramp of IKFS, the couture for the evening was designed around the fairy tale theme, spreading exuberance on the ramp with its rich silhouettes.
Showcase by Sharad Raghav was fusion wear with a mix of playful eclectic colors keeping the summers in mind. ame walked the ramp for Nino whereas Tanya Sharma and Arjun Bijlani walked the ramp for Sharad Raghav’s collection with kids, encouraging them. The showcase was witnessed by a guest list of 1,000 people including the corporate houses, media, exhibitors, retailers, parents & the crew.
Speaking on the occasion Ms. Priyanka Mahariya, Chairperson of IKFS said “We look forward to making IKFS an equal opportunity platform for all the kids across the country, we look forward to fresh talent each year who could be groomed in a manner that enriches their social skills, considered equally important today.” Also Glo & Gro’s Suanjana Biswas, an associate for the show, said “At the outset, I must thank IKFS for providing us this amazing experience to deck up these little cutie pies. The show was a huge success and the audience couldn’t stop cheering! The kids were overwhelmingly well- managed by IKFS team. I congratulate IKFS for being able to put up such a colorful extravaganza”.
