Minister exhorts women to develop politically & economically
Minister for Women and Child Welfare Sunitha Lakshma Reddy exhorted women to develop both politically and economically for the overall development of the State. She inaugurated Sri Shakti Bhavan built at a cost of Rs. 31 lakh and a veterinary complex at a cost of Rs. 15 lakh at the mandal parishat office here on Saturday.

She inaugurated Sri Shakti Bhavan built at a cost of Rs. 31 lakh and a veterinary complex at a cost of Rs. 15 lakh at the mandal parishat office here on Saturday.
Addressing the meeting, the minister said that there were 10.5 lakh self-help groups (SHG) in the state with a total membership of 1.45 crore women. She said that the self-help groups were given loans worth Rs.40,000 crore through the Central government.
The minister said that the state government has been extending interest-free loans worth Rs. 15,000 crore to the Stri Nidhi and the government was bearing the interest as subsidy. She appealed to the women to rightly utilise each and every rupee for their development.
