Siddipet (Medak): MLA T Harish Rao on Monday inaugurated the Sadbhavana Shanti rally in response to the call given by Telangana JAC here with the slogan “Let us divide like brothers and live together”. The rally which passed through the main streets in the town culminated in a meeting at Ambedkar Chowrasta.
Addressing the meeting Harish Rao said that Hyderabad city has the long history of 400 years and it was built by the forefather of Telangana people. He asserted that Hyderabad was part of Telangana and nobody could delineate it from it. Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy and TDP president Chandrababu Naidu have been indirectly running the Seemandhra agitation.
He recalled that the Congress leaders have stated that they would abide by the decision of the party high command and the TDP has stated that their party was favourable for bifurcation of the State. Even the YSR Congress party had also stated that they would respect the sentiment of Telangana, he added. After the Congress announced its decision to divide the state, all these parties went back and started agitation in Seemandhra, he lamented.
Telangana Writers Association president Nandini Siddha Reddy, JAC leader Papaiah, APTF president Tirupati Reddy, a number of students have participated in the rally. The advocates have organised a ‘homam’ on the premises of Sangareddy court appealing to the Seemandhra leaders to open their eyes. Advocate JAC leaders Vishnuvardhan Reddy, Hanumanta Reddy and a number of advocates participated.
