Buck up heroes! make more movies!!
Time was when Super Star Krishna did 17 films in an year. Even Chiru had 10 releases in one year. Even Nag and Venky did three to four films in an year. But, today’s heroes believe in one film per year. Some even take two years for one film. Perhaps rising fan expectations have made the heroes to be very cagey and careful while making films. Searching for the right story and getting the right budget are also taking time.
Take for instance Allu Arjun. His Naa Peru Surya was released two months ago. Till now, he hasn’t started his next project. His project with Vikram Kumar is still in the pipeline. Mahesh Babu took a gp of 50 days after Bharat Ane Nenu to launch his 25th film. Junior NTR took nearly eight month-long break before starting Aravinda Sameta Veera Raghava with Trivikram Srinivas. Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam did not have any graphics works. Yet, it took nearly a year-and-a--half. As for Prabhas, his Baahubali took years and his Saaho too is taking inordinately long time.
It is strange that even after years in the film industry, today’s heroes barely complete 25 films. It is doubtful whether any of them will touch the 50 mark. Pawan Kalyan has been around for two decades, but barely completed 25 years. Gopichand has just released 25th film.
The big stars should thing for the good of the industry and do more films every year. The industry basically survives on big stars. If they release more films, it is better for the industry.
