Update: 2018-12-14 05:30 IST

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao proved his mettle if the huge mandate awarded to him by the people of the State is taken into consideration. Out of many schemes, that might have contributed to the landslide victory of the pink party, the Rythu Bandhu played a vital role by winning over the farming community. Now, KCR claims that the scheme can be extended to the entire country. The Hans India readers  expressed their divergent views on KCR’s claim.

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) supremo K Chandrashekar Rao’s plan to implement Rythu Bandhu, State government’s agriculture assistance scheme that provides Rs 4,000 per acre twice in a year, countrywide as part of Federal Front’s initiative is very much possible. - S Swapna, staff nurse, Mahabubabad

KCR wants to include Rythu Bandhu scheme nationwide as part of his non-Congress and non-BJP Federal Front. Certainly, it is possible to implement. But the lawmakers have to think about the tenant farmers and podu cultivators who have been struggling to make ends meet. The lawmakers also need to think about the minimum support price to all the crops so that to help the farmers. - P Rajasri, housewife, Warangal

I don’t think it will be possible to extend Rythu Bandhu to entire country. Rythu Bandhu, which provides investment support to farmers, is a prestigious State government programme. To implement the scheme across India it costs Rs 3 to 4 lakh crore. Instead of turning his attention to the problems in the country, KCR should focus his attention on developing Telangana state.       - G Nandini, homemaker, Adilabad

It is not an easy task to extend Rythu Bandhu to entire country. Both the Congress and BJP parties have failed to meet the basic needs of people. instead of playing a role at the national level, he should focus his attention on Telangana. I don’t think Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will succeed in extending Rythu Bandhu to the entire country. - K Ramaesh, Adilabad

I think meticulous planning is vital to success of KCR’s promise to extend Rythu Bandh to entire country. The Union government should shoulder the responsibility of allot funds in the budget for the scheme. I am confident that KCR can extend the scheme to entire country. - Kouru Sugunakar Reddy, self-employed, Singapur, Karimnagar

Government should take concrete steps to increase the income of farmers by providing water for irrigation, minimum support price to farm produce, crop insurance and establishing allied industries, apart from curbing spurious seeds etc. Providing meagre financial aid to farmers does not help them in the long run and it is impossible to implement Rythu Bandhu across the country. - Srinivas, electrician, Nalgonda

No, I don’t think that it will be possible to extend Rythu Bandhu to entire country as KCR claims. It is a good concept. But it will face many hurdles across the country. The main hurdle which may come in the way of implementation of the scheme is political consideration. There are different political parties with different ideologies in the country. When the successive government failed to address the unemployment problem even after six decades of Independence, how can one expect that the scheme can be implemented smoothly throughout the country. - K Venkataramana, social activist, Amberpet

No, I categorically disagree with KCR’s claim that Rythu Bandhu scheme can be extended to the entire country. It is just a political slogan by the TRS supremo K Chandrashekar Rao to raise the status of his party to national level by launching his party in different states. Telangana voters gave him a huge mandate to solve the problems being faced by them. He should concentrate on implementing his promises like KG to PG free education and addressing unemployment problem. - B Raju Yadav, private employee, Narayanaguda

I do not think it is possible to extend Rythu Bandhu scheme to the entire country. More funds are required to implement the scheme throughout the country. - P Praveen, Kothagudem
