New York: An NRI doctor has been imprisoned for supporting a fake medical insurance claim. Amarnath Bhandari, an Oklahoma based doctor has been awarded 30 months imprisonment apart from 12.37 lakh rupees fine. The honorable court ordered the officials to keep an eye on this doctor for three years, after he gets released from the jail.
As per the court’s order, Bhandari should pay a fine to the Insurance Corporation; so, the officials are likely to seize his property in the US. Recently, a case has been filed on him based on the incidents took place in 2008. Bhandari had been licensed to practice as a psychologist in Oklahoma. He had been allegedly supplied the banned drugs and caused death of five people in the past, sources added.
