Three killed as militants attack CRPF camp

He said three persons were killed. Three weapons have been seized so far from the spot. "We are trying to ascertain the identity of deceased," he said.

Protests erupted in Shopian town and adjoining areas soon after the incident. The protestors pelted stones at the local police station and clashed with security personel at several places, officials said. Police and paramilitary personel fired teargas shells and used batons to disperse the protestors, they said. Senior civil and police officers have rushed to the town and efforts are on to restore law and order, the officials said.

9 injured in Pulwama
Nine people, five of them police personnel, were injured in a grenade attack by suspected militants in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district, officials said. Some unidentified ultras hurled a grenade on a police patrol at Muran Chowk in Pulwama town, 32-km from here, at around 4 pm, they said. Five policemen were among nine people injured in the grenade attack, the officials said. The entire area was immediately cordoned off and the injured were rushed to hospital, the officials said.
