Virbhadra will not resign, says wife, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister will not resign. Rebutting corruption charges, Virbhadra Singh's wife Pratibha Singh on Sunday said that the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister will not resign.
Graft charges against him have not been proved, says Pratibha
New Delhi: Rebutting corruption charges, Virbhadra Singh's wife Pratibha Singh on Sunday said that the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister will not resign. A defiant Pratibha has said that the graft charges against Virbhadra have not been proved and he is open to an enquiry. "There is no question of his resignation. These are just charges which are yet to be proved," Pratibha said.
This comes a day after Virbhadra defended himself saying that this is a conspiracy by the BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. "My conscience is clear, I have done no wrong, I am being hounded by Prem Kumar Dhumal, his sons and the BJP at large," Singh claimed. "I have blessings of the Congress high command and above all blessings of the people of Himachal Pradesh," he added. BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley had written a letter to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh accusing Virbhadra of being involved in corruption. Virbhadra has been accused of to favouring a power company.
