Sunanda Pushkar, though in the last few years has largely been seen and hit headlines as Tharoor's wife, was a successful businesswoman and she also discussed her success as an independent woman with a lot of pride during interviews.

Her declared assets on the Prime Minister's website suggest Shashi Tharoor had not only one of the most stunning, but also one of the richest wives in comparison to any other politician in India currently.
Among the assets left behind Sunanda are 12 apartments in Dubai, a house in Canada, property in Jammu, cash worth Rs 7 crore, Jewellery worth Rs 2 crore.
Sunanda also inherited Shahtoosh shawls from her mother and grand mother which reportedly are worth Rs 30 lakh.
Sunanda possessed a sword which apparently belongs to the era of Emperor Humayun apart from ab antique suit of armour which is locked up in Canada. The sword and the suit are reportedly priceless.
The origin or the source of the suit and the armour may never be known unless she shared the information with her husband or son.
Apart from the jewellery, cash and property, Sunanda possessed 25 watches, a collection from different countries which is worth Rs 5 crore.

Sunanda Pushkar's Ontario house has a worth of Rs 1.85 crore while her 12 apartments in Dubai are worth Rs 70.5 crore. Delhi police sources said that it was Tharoor who informed the police about his wife's death. Later arrangements were made to take her body to AIIMS for post-mortem.

Sunanda, who was suffering from lupus, a serious ailment which has no cure, got into a Twitter fight with a Pakistani journalist Mehr Trar, a day before her death. Sunanda accused Trar of stalking on Tharoor and trying to break her marriage.
Sunanda Pushkar wrote her will three months before her death, apparently considering the "uncertainties" of life. According to a lawyer friend of Sunanda, at the time of writing her will, Sunanda was quite inclined towards Tharoor.
Pakistani journalist Mehr Trar expressed shock in her Tweets after learning about Sunanda's death.
Sunanda Pushkar, wife of Minister of State for Human Resource Shashi Tharoor, was found dead in her hotel room in Delhi's Leela Palace last week . The death of the 52-year-old came as a big shock to the country specially at the wake of a Twitter account controversy that she and Tharoor were shortly caught up in.
Post-mortem reports of the mother of one have revealed that the cause of her death may have been an overdose of antidepressants.
Meanwhile, media reports suggest that Tharoor has been given a clean chit in his wife's death probe after a witness testified that Pushkar was seen alive two hours after Tharoor left Leela Palace.
