New Delhi : Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal rejected Lt Governor Najeeb Jung's call to revisit his decision to hold a special session of Delhi assembly for the passage of the Jan Lokpal Bill at an open stadium, saying there will be no review of the move.

Kejriwal's assertion to hold the session at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium came hours after Jung asked him not to stick to the decision as Delhi police has expressed reservation over it citing possible law and order situation.

"An open session is an integral part of democracy," he said. He suggested that if the Delhi Police cannot provide the security required for the session, its police chief should resign,” CMsaid.

In his letter to Jung, he asked, "If the police cannot provide security in one stadium, how can it be expected to keep the entire city safe?" The AAP government has lost majority after lone Independent MLA Rambeer Shokeen withdrawn his support on Monday. Shokeen had been threatening to withdraw support if the Kejriwal government did not fulfil its promises. Shokeen had said that he will meet Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung.

But with its MLA Vinod Kumar Binny, Congress MLA Asif Mohammad Khan and Independent MLA withdrawing their support, the AAP government has been reduced to minority with just 35 MLAs.

The government's strength can be tested only on the floor of the House. It is technically a minority government.

AAP has 27 MLAs, Congress 8 MLAs and JDU 1 MLA which totals to 36 (1 AAP MLA is Speaker. If the Speaker is not counted him, then the government will have 35 MLAs). The Speaker can cast his vote, if there is a tie. Moreover, one of the Congress MLA had said that he will vote against the AAP government.

Lt Governor Najeeb Jang sought Union Law Ministry's opinion on the constitutional position whether it was necessary for the Delhi government to obtain prior approval from the Centre before tabling the Jan Lokpal Bill in the Assembly. Kejriwal met Jung and discussed various issues relating to the Jan Lokpal Bill. In a statement, the Lt Governor's office said to avoid any dispute in the matter and to obtain full clarity, Jung has referred the issue to the Law Ministry for a "final opinion".

"I am not trying to be toppled", Kejriwal has said amid growing confrontation between him and the Congress party over a key anti-graft legislation.
