Narendra Modi called on by US ambassador
BJP PM Candidate Narendra Modi Called On by US Ambassador. Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi was called on by US Ambassador Nancy Powell on Thursday.
Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi was called on by US Ambassador Nancy Powell on Thursday. The meeting between the US envoy and Modi marks a change in stand of the US which had earlier denied the Bharatiya Janata Party leader a visa in 2005 over the 2002 Gujarat riots matter.
Before the actual meeting, Powell was presented a rose bouquet by Modi, after which she and her associates held a meeting with him. Based on a request to arrange for the meeting some time ago, the meeting had been facilitated by the external affairs ministry.
The US has clearly indicated it is ready to do collaborate with any government that emerges from India's looming general elections. The US and India have forged friendly ties with bilateral trade to a huge sum.
