Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal will launch his outfit's campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls by holding a rally at Haryana's Rohtak on Sunday.

AAP alleged the Congress-led government in the state was creating hurdles before the event.

Rohtak is being represented by Deepender Singh Hooda, son of Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. "The Congress government is using tactics before the rally. Hooda is giving orders to remove the posters put up by us and auto drivers who are campaigning for us are being fined. "Haryana Urban Development Authority, on whose ground we are holding the rally, is also troubling us," charged Naveen Jaihind, party leader from Haryana.

Rejecting the allegation of illegally receiving foreign funds, AAP has told the Delhi High Court that it got donations worth Rs 30 crore from Indian citizens only, out which about Rs 8.5 crore came from NRIs.

Denying having violated any foreign exchange or other laws, AAP contended that the PIL accusing it and its founding members of having illegally received foreign funding is "scandalous, frivolous, motivated and baseless".Former BJP MP Rajan Sushant, who had quit the party early this year, joined AAP.

Sushnt may contest from Kangra Lok Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh on an AAP ticket, sources said. "When there was a countrywide movement for Janlokpal, Sushant had undertaken a similar movement for Lokpal in Himachal Pradesh," senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia said welcoming him into the party. Along with Sushant, AAP also announced Bhojpuri actress Reena Rani joining the party. Rani has acted in serials like 'Jhansi Ki Rani' and 'Phulwa'. Just hours after Nationalist Congress Party workers ransacked AAP office in Mumbai, local police detained AAP leader Mayank Gandhi on Saturday evening.

Gandhi who is also AAP's Lok Sabha candidate was detained by Mumbai Police when he was on his way to the NCP office. The youth wing activists of the NCP earlier in the day burnt an effigy of former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal outside AAP office. Cross FIRs were lodged against 30 people, including AAP leader Kumar Vishwas and a Congress leader after an altercation between activists of both the parties, at Peparpur police station in the Amethi district.
