Varanasi Lok Sabha SeatVaranasi: After days of debate over Varanasi Lok Sabha seat, Bharatiya Janata Party prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is unlikely to contest the elections from the temple town of India. According to sources Modi may contest from Allahabad or Lucknow with some sections of party hoping that Modi's candidature from Uttar Pradesh will give a push to the BJP in the state.

BJP's sitting MP from Varanasi, Murli Manohar Joshi, is reluctant to give up his seat. Sources say that Joshi is confident that he will contest elections from Varanasi as no one from the BJP has officially broached the subject of him moving out of his consituency.

The development comes a day ahead of the party's Central Election Committee meet where the second list of candidates is likely to be released.

Not only students appearing for board exams, but BJP's prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi might also be facing exam blues this time as he has conceded that like them he is also taking an examination, albeit in the form of Lok Sabha elections.

"Student friends, Narendra Modi here. Like you, I am also giving an exam. But like me you also should not worry about exams," Modi says in the pre-recorded message in the calls coming to students and parents giving them advice not to be affected by exam blues.

Modi is also delivering his speeches in 10 Indian languages. No, the BJP's prime ministerial candidate is not learning new languages, but his party is making sure that he is heard by all, without exception.

Team Modi has come out with a set of videos of his speeches dubbed by professionals who seem to have copied his voice and style of speaking to perfection.

As the campaign for next month's national election picks up speed, Mr Modi's team believes the linguistic outreach will widen his appeal.

The idea for regional speeches cropped up a few months back after the Gujarat chief minister's media team realized that for a more effective connect with voters in big states like Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Maharashtra, his speeches need to be in the local language.

Contesting allegations by Modi that his arrogance was higher than Mount Everest, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said he was from a "poor family" and only had self-respect.

"We all have respect for Mt Everest which is the highest peak of Himalaya ... But it cannot be a scale to measure arrogance ... Born in a poor family I only have self respect and no arrogance," Kumar said.

"The style of talking and body posture shows who is arrogant ... Everybody knows that actually arrogance is dropping from every inch of his body," Kumar said two days after Narendra Modi attacked him at a rally in Purnea.

The RSS was not involved in the killing of Mahatma Gandhi, BJP patriarch LK Advani said in a blog, quoting Gandhi's grandson Rajmohan Gandhi on Wednesday.

Advani's blog 'Mahatma was perhaps not right' on Wednesday also said Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's contributions have not been acknowledged.
