Daughter elopes, leaves father a fortune

Indian society is very complex and is governed by so many ethical values. If a girl elopes with her boyfriend leaving the moral values aside, the bank deposits held on her name will be owned by the father of the eloper. A verdict to this effect was given by a local court in Delhi.

In an incident, a girl who early eloped with a young man approached the court claiming the ownership of the amount deposited on her name in a bank. Her father counter filed a case in the same court with an exactly opposite demand. When the court has listened to arguments of both, the honourbale justice in his verdict made it a mention that the deposits made by the father of an eloper will belong to the father only. The court contradicted the arguments that an account holder who turns to be a major will be the sole owner of the deposits. The honourable court gave verdict that in case of elopement of a gril, the deposits will not be owned by the eloper.
