“The Modi tsunami is still in full force... the results have answered those critics who had claimed after the recent bypoll results that the Modi wave was over,” Shah said at a press conference here, adding the nation accepts PM Modi as an undisputed leader.

“This is the biggest win for the BJP in both the states,” he underscored. The BJP president said that in both the states, Congress would not even get the Leader of Opposition post. “Congress has been relegated to number three position in both the states.” Shah said the BJP's 'Congress Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan' has moved ahead, thanks to the people of Maharashtra and Haryana.

“I assure the people of both states that BJP governments there will try to meet their expectations. People have given BJP the responsibility to provide good governance in both the states,” the Modi aide said.

Shah said Sunday's results are also a reflection on Modi government's work over the past four months. “People have put a stamp of approval on the Modi government's work.”

Shah recalled that due to certain situations, the BJP had contested alone on all seats in both the states.

“We have won more seats than the Shiv Sena (Maharashtra) and the HJC (Haryana) were willing to give us as part of the alliance,” the BJP president noted, saying “we never tried to end the alliance with Shiv Sena”. “They ended the 25-year-long friendship for just three seats,” he rued. “Today, it has been proved as to who was right and justified,” he added. He, however, confidently said that the BJP will form the government in Maharashtra and that there will be a BJP CM despite the party not winning majority on its own.
