Ludhiana: Congress leader Manish Tewari on Saturday said that US President Barack Obama's visit to India is not the leader's first visit to the country, and added leaders from different countries keep making such visits so there was nothing extraordinary about it.

"It is not the first time Obama is coming to India. Leaders of different countries keep making such visits," said Tewari.
Furthermore, Congress leader Shakti Singh Gohil said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi needs to have some clarity before inviting Obama.
"Earlier, when Chinese President Xi Jinping was invited, he was given a red carpet welcome and after that the incursions took place. When Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was invited, ceasefire violations took place. I believe Narendra Modi needs to have clarity before inviting Obama," Gohil said.
Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader GVL Narsimha Rao said that India and US are reaching a high level of bilateral relation and had added that Prime Minister Modi deserved to be congratulated for becoming a global leader.
The US President had earlier this month praised Prime Minister Modi by referring to him as a 'man of action'.
Obama used the phrase during a gala dinner hosted for the leaders from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and East Asia Summit (EAS) member countries in Nay Pyi Taw.
He had earlier on September 29 hosted a private dinner for Prime Minister Modi at the White House during the latter's U.S. visit.
