Female Bear with four cubs trapped in dry well
A female Himalayan Black Bears along with her four cubs accidentally fell into a dry well on Friday in a remote area of central Kashmir\'s Ganderbal District.
Kangan: A female Himalayan Black Bears along with her four cubs accidentally fell into a dry well on Friday in a remote area of central Kashmir's Ganderbal District.
Hearing the grunt of bear, some villagers went near the well and to their astonishment, discovered an adult bear and four cubs trapped in the well.
"We immediately informed the local forest officials who rushed to the spot to rescue the trapped animals," said an elderly person by the name Ghullam Mohmmad.
This family of five Himalayan black bears were on Friday morning found trapped inside a dry well in an orchard in Haripora village in a remote area of Ganderbal district, said a forest official.
“We are making efforts to rescue the bears without causing harm to them and once this task is accomplished, they will be released in their natural habitat in the Dachigam wildlife park in Srinagar,” said a forest official associated with the rescue operation.
