The Maharashtra government has banned web based taxi services like Ola and Uber following the Delhi rape incident. The ban comes after the Delhi rape incident where a female passenger who availed of Uber's service alleged that she was raped by the driver.
The ban will come into effect immediately. The move comes after the Transport department received directions from the centre to ban all web based taxi service.
