New Delhi: Trinamool Congress MPs Monday protested the arrest of West Bengal Minister Madan Mitra in the Saradha chit fund case both inside and outside parliament.
The lawmakers, draped in black shawls, staged a protest outside the Parliament House and accused the central government of misusing the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
They held up placards with slogans like "PM, Amit Shah, Bengal is angry" and also flashed some photographs of Sahara group chief Subrata Roy shaking hands with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
As soon as the Lok Sabha assembled for the day, the Trinamool MPs demanded suspension of the question hour, alleging that the CBI was being "misused" to suit the interests of the central government.
When Speaker Sumitra Mahajan refused to suspend the question hour, the Trinamool MPs staged a walkout.
The CBI arrested West Bengal Sports and Transport Minister Madan Mitra Friday in the Saradha scam.
