Powerful IED recovered in Assam

Guwahati: Security forces on Friday evening recovered a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Assam's Sivsagar district, officials said.

According to reports, security forces recovered the IED weighing 2 kilogram in front of Mahavir oil mill in Sivsagar town.

"Suspected militants had planted the IED for explosion in the oil riches Upper Assam town, " a top police official said.

Top police, army officials and bomb squad team had rushed to the area and vacated civilians from the area.
