BJP Delhi CM candidate declines challenge for public debate too

New Delhi: Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after challenging BJP's Delhi chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi for an open public debate, has now requested her to unblock him on Twitter. "Kiranji, I used to follow u on twitter. Now, u have blocked me on twitter. Kindly unblock me," Kejriwal tweeted on Tuesday.

However, Bedi issued a statement flatly refusing Kejriwal’s online request to allow the leader to follow her. “I blocked him 15 months back when he called himself an anarchist. He was spreading negativity. Didn’t want my four million followers to see negativity… it was a polluting account,” Bedi said.

The face of BJP’s Delhi campaign, Bedi, was also unwilling to entertain Kejriwal call for a public debate. Bedi said she will debate Kejriwal on the floor of the House. “Arvind believes only in debates whereas I believe in delivery of services,” said Bedi. Kejriwal earlier challenged Kiran Bedi to a public debate. But, the BJP turned it down. It called it a popularity stunt of AAP. Kejriwal, in a message on Twitter, congratulated Bedi for her nomination and said: "I invite you for a public debate moderated by neutral person and telecast by all."
