Did Kiran Bedi's Iron leg cast a shadow on BJP's fortunes in the Delhi polls where it has been pounded lost ignominiously?

Yes, say the BJP and RSS cadres of Delhi and elsewhere in chorus blaming her for the shame and humiliation at their epicentre of influence. The Aam Aadmi Party looked set to form government in Delhi, sweeping to power with an unprecedented win of over 50 seats in the 70-seat legislative assembly.

The mandate is similar to what Delhi had given in the days of Atal Behari Vajpayee to BJP after his exit twice from PM's post. Kejriwal has however bagged that honor. The fledgling party did better than even exit polls. By 9.30 am, official Election Commission statistics gave the party 50 out of 59 seats for which leads were being counted, seven to the BJP and one each to the Congress and the Shiromani Akali Dal. Unofficial leads gave the AAP close to 55 seats.

AAP chief ministerial candidate Arvind Kejriwal led in his seat, New Delhi, while Kiran Bedi, BJP’s late entrant CM candidate was trailing in Krishna Nagar, a stronghold of MP Harsh Vardhan and considered a safe seat for the party.

So the writing is clear that RSS has hit back at the choice of Kiran Bedi as next CM of Delhi. "It could have been better if Shela Dixit was chosen by the Modi's men," said a senior RSS leader in Hyderabad.
