New Delhi: The Twitterati, the social medium that has been a hot favourite of the ruling BJP, especially Narendra Modi, came out in the open Tuesday to take a swipe at the prime minister even as it mocked both the BJP and the Congress in the aftermath of the sensational Delhi poll results.

“They wanted every Hindu woman to produce at least four kids.. and they couldn't even win four seats in the Delhi assembly!” tweeted Pooja Mehra, an IT professional, taking a dig at BJP MP from Unnao Sakshi Maharaj who had asked Hindu women to produce four children.

Lauding the over two-year-old Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for making a stunning comeback after a 49-day stint in 2013-14, filmmaker Shirish Kunder said: “AAP has just started its 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' against BJP.”

While the day started with #DelhiDecides as the top- most trending hashtag, within a few hours it was replaced by #AAPSweep as the people welcomed the verdict.

“The BJP hasn't just been swept away. Or crushed by an avalanche. It's been hit by a meteorite,” Priti Singh, a twitter user said.

Govind Keshari, another Twitter user said: “#AAPSweep The concern and interest of common man is supreme, not the religion. I hope, BJP would have learned its

lesson,” denouncing the anti-minority campaign of some of the Hindu fringe groups that are aligned to the BJP and served as its campaign foot-soldiers.

The twitterati also used the 140-character space to criticise Modi's “arrogance”, which they said was the sole reason behind his party's rout.

“Never wear a suit with your name written on it!!” Tikeshwat Patel said.

“Lesson learnt. Arrogance never pays #AAPSweep,” another user said.

The twitterati also hailed the decision of those voters who did not get swayed by passionate speeches and rather gave the AAP a “second chance” to helm the

government.

“Every ego deserves a thunder jolt. Every second chance demands a redoubled commitment. That's BJP vs AAP for me. #AAPSweep,” posted Jona Key, a copywriter.

Zena Costa shared similar sentiments and said: “That Delhi did not fall for grandiose speeches and noted the BJP's inaction instead is so heartening! Wonderful for Indian politics #AAPSweep.”

The 46-year-old Kejriwal, an Indian Institute of Technology alumnus, studied mechanical engineering and then went on to join the Indian Revenue Servic, found

some “engineering” accolades coming his way.

“Arvind Kejriwal proves himself to be a true engineer. 'All down' in first semester and 'all clear' at the end of second semester!! #AAPSweep,” posted Hani.

While the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) managed to bag only three seats in the 70-member assembly, the Congress failed to open its account.

“Aryabhatta must be so proud of congress today...#AAPSweep,” Dipali Thakkar posted.
