The Union minister for urban development and Parliamentary affairs M Venkaiah Naidu today gave a clean chit to PM Narendra Modi and said blamed it on ruling Janata Dal United for the ongoing political turmoil in Bihar.

Addressing press here on Sunday, he said that the Janata Dal name is united ( JD-U) but, as usual, they are divided. Centre has no role in it. They should stop this disinformation campaign,” Naidu said. "I would like to make it very clear. Modiji has no role at all. But, Nitish is blaming Modi and the Centre for their failures," he said.

"Who asked Nitish to resign from the chief minister's post and who asked him to make Jitan Ram Manjhi the Bihar chief minister, and why he is asking him to resign now?” he said. “The Bihar Assembly meeting is on 20 February, then why is this Delhi Drama of parading MLAs before the President; settle the issue in the Assembly' he said adding that Bihar Governor has made it clear that the trial of strength has to take place on the floor of the Assembly.

Attributing the trouble in Bihar to the internal squabbles of the JDU, Naidu ridiculed Nitish Kumar leadership for claiming to form the government in the first place and then wanting to be recognized as main opposition in Bihar Assembly. “It is the internal strife in the JD(U) that has led to the demand for removal of a Dalit from CMs post. It was Nitish who put a Dalit in the CMs seat, now they are blaming Modi for everything that happens in Bihar,” Venkaiah Naidu said.

Stressing the need to strengthen the party base after the Delhi debacle, Venkaiah Naidu has said that BJP has to prepare itself for the challenges posed by Corrupt, communal, communist and castiest political forces. “India elects Delhi, Delhi doesn’t elect India, is the simple truth that the opposition in its vicarious satisfaction is forgetting to understand,” he said.

Answering a question on special status to residual AP, Venkaiah Naidu said that the issue is not that simple. “I ask the Congress which has so easily divided the state incorporated special status in the Act itself. Now they are on a one crore signatures campaign for special status,” Naidu wondered adding that the union government is committed to help AP and Telangana. He also said that a broad consensus is required to rectify certain issues in the Reorganization Act which could be done in during the budget session. “But the agenda before the house quite huge this time, “he added.
