Manmohan Singh paying dearly for UPA follies: Javadekar Alleging that the Congress high command did not allow the former PM Manmohan Singh to opt for the auction route on the allotment of coal blocks, the Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar said that he was just paying for the sins of his party.

Alleging that the Congress high command did not allow the former PM Manmohan Singh to opt for the auction route on the allotment of coal blocks, the Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar said that he was just paying for the sins of his party.

Mr. Javadekar sympathized with the former Prime Minister saying that Manmohan Singh succumbed to the pressures from Congress high command in the allocation of coal blocks, which has landed him in trouble.

He added that the policies need to be blamed as they lacked transparency adopted by the Congress government for the predicament faced by Manmohan Singh who failed to muster enough courage to say no.

Further, Javadekar alleged that during the UPA regime, it has been a regular practice of sending letters of recommendation to the Prime Minister and his Cabinet colleagues on several issues; also pointed out that former union minister Jayanti Natarajan was on record confirming this questionable side of the Congress government.

Stating that the first 32 coal mines in ongoing coal block auctions have fetched Rs 2 lakh crore revenue, the Union Minister said that when the auctioning of all the 200 mines is completed, estimated revenue of over Rs 7 lakh crore to even Rs 10 lakh crore will be present.

Javadekar also said that his party will fulfill all the promises made in the AP reorganization Act.
