Minister Giriraj Singh regrets comments against Sonia Gandhi

Congress party gained a first victory today when the Union Minister Giriraj Singh apologized for his remarks against the Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

On the first day of the second session of the budget session of Parliament the Congress MP and leader of opposition Mallikarjun Kharge stalled the proceedings and the minister was eventually made to apologize.

Last month Giriraj Singh had said that Congress men had accepted and elevated Sonia Gandhi because she was white skinned and would not have promoted her in politics if she was a dark skinned lady of Nigeria. The comments of the minister had earned wide criticism in social media with the Prime Minister and Speaker condoning the comments.
